Job Title: Sr. Software Engineer / Principal Software Engineer.

Position Description:

Company is looking for full-time senior Java developers for its Chennai, India area. Company is looking for candidates who are interested in working with a mature product development team. Ideal candidates are expected to work in a collaborative, product development environment with a productive team of peers. While Java expertise is important, we value willingness to learn and grow above all else. We take pride in our workmanship and take quality seriously. We are looking for candidates with a passion for principles and practices.

Job Responsibilities:

•             At least 5+ years experience in application/product development using a broad range of programming technologies including:

-              Java/J2EE

-              Struts, JSP, Hibernate, Spring framework

-              scripting languages (Perl, Python)

•             Strong in Internet technologies (HTML, HTTP, TCP/IP, SOAP, XML, etc)

•             2+ years of development experience in Unix/Linux/Solaris environment

•             Experience in C++/ .NET added plus

•             Experience using other common open source tools (CVS, SVN, Bugzilla, etc.)

Additional Requirements:

•             Should have a Bachelors degree in Engineering or MCA

•             Minimum 5+ years of development experience in building enterprise grade applications/product

•             Should be a self starter and independent

•             Good communication skills including verbal and written skills (specifications, design, etc.)

•             Must be able to work independently and in a team setting

•             Be able to articulate implementation at all levels

•             Must be able to evaluate alternative solutions

•             Applicants with wide variety of technical experience are good candidates for this position

Total IT Software experience: 5 – 10 years.

Title Position : Principal Software Engineer (Individual Contributor Role).

Job Responsibility:

• Interact with product manager to understand business requirements, articulate them and work with developments leads & architects to ensure right product strategy.
• Deliver clear, detailed functional design and technical design specifications, and negotiate with Architect, Product Management, QA and other Engineering stakeholders in finalizing them.
• Set technical product direction by weighing industry trends, competitive information, and product requirements. Take appropriate technology decisions by doing right fit POC and prototypes.
• Guide and mentor development team with clean architecture & sound designs. Build strong technical understanding in team, lead by example and act as a role model.
• Design, develop, implement and maintain complex software components.
• Make innovative contributions and embrace new ideas. Encourage team members.
• Successfully manage assignments on multiple projects and across one or more teams.

Qualification:

• 8+ years of experience designing and building complex Enterprise strength products. Good understanding of product life cycle is required.
• Excellent understanding of windows platform, security, .net and Web technologies is a must.
• Extensive experience with ASP.NET, C# and C++ in Windows environment is required.
• Solid foundation of RDBMS and object oriented design experience with hands-on is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills at the business and technical level.
• Strong work ethic, commitment and team work. Must work well in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and mentoring qualities.
• Creative problem solving approach, passion for quality and customer-first attitude.
